Badminton is a racquet sport played using racquets to hit a shuttlecock across a net. Although it may be played with larger teams, the most common forms of the game are "singles" (with one player per side) and "doubles" (with two players per side). Badminton is often played as a casual outdoor activity in a yard or on a beach; formal games are played on a rectangular indoor court. Points are scored by striking the shuttlecock with the racquet and landing it within the opposing side's half of the court.
The court is rectangular and divided into halves by a net. Courts are usually marked for both singles and doubles play, although badminton rules permit a court to be marked for singles only. The full width of the court is 6.1 meters, and in singles, this width is reduced to 5.18 meters. The full length of the court is 13.4 meters. The service courts are marked by a center line dividing the width of the court, by a short service line at a distance of 1.98 meters from the net, and by the outer side and back boundaries. In doubles, the service court is also marked by a long service line, which is 0.76 meters from the back boundary. The net is 1.55 meters high at the edges and 1.524 meters high in the center. The net posts are placed over the doubles sidelines, even when singles is played.
Talking about the badminton net which is one of the most important parts of the court and the game, has to be strong and flexible at the same time. The net is about 6 meters in length dividing the court into two halves. Here the net doesn’t have to be highly rigid as the shuttlecock strike doesn’t generate much force. The only thing to be taken care of is to make sure that the net doesn’t sag in between and has to be securely tied at both the ends across the court. The solution to this is the badminton nets by Garware Technical Fibres Ltd. one of India’s leading players in the technical textiles sector. So no matter where or on what level you play, the nets will be always of high quality. Although the shuttlecock is very light in weight, the nets are made highly shock resistant with a proper UV treatment. The Nets have better knot stability and have a uniform mesh design. They are tailor-made and can be customized as per the requirement of the user.
